What does “Outstanding” mean for Musicians?

Being outstanding means two things.

It means that you evolve personal excellence in different areas: artistic excellence, technical excellence and social skills.

But it also means that you stand out to people! Work that truly expresses something personal has the power to move people and to win someone over to you.

This personal expression can manifest in different terms. It can mean to develop a certain musical style, to evoke certain feelings, to have a mission or to create new experiences or point of views. It’s not fixed to your instrumental skills.

It is based on your whole artist identity.

What is Artist Branding?

Artist branding is the conscious development of an authentic and professional profile as an artist.

It means managing your reputation so you can walk through the gates of the classical music world you'd like to walk through.

You will not be branded! You will create something unique from your own resources as a person, artist and musician that can only be experienced with you.

Why should I invest in my Outstanding Brand?

We need to uncover our goals and potentials to build a strong foundation for our voice. Internally and externally.

If we don’t have an idea about what is our “own”, we will be tossed around by the goals and ideas of others.

Some will discover it on the go. Some need a little more support in exploring it.

But branding is also a professional tool to coordinate your creative outputs.
Because how should concert promoters, listeners and agencies know about your enthusiasm when it's not tangible for them?

People need a grip on you.

In bringing clarity into your doing, talking, expressing, and communicating, people will get access to your world.

I worked in the classical music world as a journalist, filmmaker, strategist and CEO. But I also took a look at the “bad guys” – corporates and profit oriented businesses. I think we need to merge the best of these two worlds in order to become a resonant musician of the 21st century.
